Tips
  1. Schedule your session between 31 and 36 weeks as your tummy should have popped and have a beautiful shape. By booking your maternity session during this time you are also past the discomfort and bloating that happens earlier in the pregnancy.

  2. We recommend you moisturize your knees, elbows and belly 1 – 2 hours before the session to avoid any shininess or sticky clothes. Please avoid wearing any tight fitting watches or bracelets that might leave marks on your skin.

  3. Get your nails done and ring polished; treat yourself to a neutral or light colored manicure 1 – 2 days prior to your maternity session so that you can take some beautiful shots with your hands on your stomach.

  4. Some simple prop ideas can include a necklace with the baby’s initials, an ultrasound photo, family heirloom, or baby shoes & a onesie.

  5. Consider getting your hair and/or makeup professionally done before your session to make you look and feel your most confident self.

Wardrobe Tips
  • The following dresses are perfect for enhancing your shape; drawstrings, empire waists, flowing tops and wrap dresses. Ensure that your clothing does not detract from your stomach's shape and your natural glow. Avoid large, bold patterns or clothing that is too loose.

  • Before purchasing new outfits, you should review your closet to see if you have anything that can be utilized for your session. Give yourself a few days before your session to plan and get anything additional for the family that you may need.

  • Instead of matching your outfits, aim to coordinate them.

  • Neutrals and simple plain colors work great when paired with accessory details.

  • Bring comfy clothes such as a jacket and comfortable shoes to change in and out of, especially for walking to shoot locations outdoors.

  • Finalize and pack your outfits and shoes several days in advance.

I can’t wait to capture these beautiful memories with you!
